Prestbury Amenity Society
Preserving the past, conserving the present, and protecting the future.
Prestbury Amenity Society was founded in 1970 by a group of local people who wished to ensure that Prestbury retained its distinctiveness by:
• Encouraging high standards of architecture and planning in Prestbury
• Stimulating public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the area
• Encouraging the preservation, development and improvement of areas of public amenity and historic interest
The Committee comments on planning applications, offering sound observations at planning meetings and is, at times, consulted by Cheshire East Council.
The Society makes every effort with the annual entry for the 'Community Pride' competition (formerly the Best Kept Village competition), as well as help to keep the problem of litter under control, plant bulbs and flowers every year throughout the village and railway station.
If you want to support for the work of Prestbury Amenity Society you can join the hundreds of our members who are preserving, conserving and protecting the village of Prestbury for future generations.
